Hi.  I’m Kamilah from Studio K Pottery.  I love creating and have done ever since school, with art always being my favourite subject.  I have a Fashion Design degree from Falmouth University, but ceramics has always been an interest. 

I signed up for an evening ceramic course at Liverpool City College in January 2024 and I fell in love with it. Numerous more courses and a lot of learning, and I now have my own little studio space.

I love being close to the sea, being born in Liverpool and living on The Wirral all my life, and spending 3 years at university being at the beach in Cornwall; it’s what makes me happy. The seascapes I see around me inspire the colours of my pottery and the blends of colours and patterns in hues of brown, blue and green are seen in many of my designs.

I absolutely love animals, so my most recent works have been incorporating illustrations of the ones I find most interesting - the weirder the better!

The ceramics I make are driven by what I would love to have in my own home, so that does make it hard to not just keep everything I make for myself. If it’s colourful and a bit weird, I’m having it.
